Human Development and Family Studies (HDFS) prepares students to address real-world problems in a changing and diverse global society. Students gain a deeper understanding of learning and growth from an ecological perspective, and advance in careers that support the healthy functioning of children, families and communities. Our program prepares graduates to address issues that affect human living and development through research, teaching and outreach. The HDFS program aims to recruit students who have an interest in the multidisciplinary study of biological, social and psychological factors that impact people across the lifespan.
What You’ll Do:
- Engage in experiential learning opportunies, including observation and work with children at the university Child Study Center
- Explore the day-to-day workings of a human service agency through required internships in varying contexts
