In addressing the current data limitation for this CAEP measure, the EPP is proactively collaborating with local education agencies and the ALSDE to expand data collection efforts and gather supplementary data. This includes incorporating student test scores and teacher evaluations to comprehensively assess Completer Effectiveness and Impact on P-12 Learning and Development. The EPP anticipates that additional data will be accessible by summer 2024, increasing depth and accuracy of its assessment.

Candidate Competency at Program Completion (Component R3.3, RA 3.4)

  • Prior to program completion, the EPP ensures all advanced candidates have attained high standards of content knowledge in their fields of specialization, data literacy and research- driven decision making, effective use of collaborative skills, applications of technology, and applications of dispositions, laws, codes of ethics, and professional standards appropriate for the field of specialization. Prior to program completion and recommendation for certification, all advanced candidates must meet program-specific requirements including coursework included on ALSDE-approved program checksheets, GPA, and certification examinations (in applicable fields).

Ability of completers to be hired in education positions for which they have been prepared
