Dr. Shafqat Ali Shad is an applied computer and data scientist with firm belief in achieving business needs and creating social influence through state of art technologies. He holds PhD in computer science with 17 years of experience in academia, delivering successful IT solutions ranging from data analysis to ERP. He implemented and developed data mining algorithms verified over real-world dataset and incorporated results in more than 30 research articles published in top tier journals. He also authored/co-authored two books on data mining. He recently completed start up factory and ICorp product idea programs at Iowa State University. Some of his past work experience does include working as a Research Scientist @ Iowa State University, Research Assistant @ Nokia Research Center Asia, China, Adviser IT programs @ Asian Development Bank and Chief System Analyst @ Planning Commission of Pakistan.
Dr. Shad’s main area of research are information retrieval, data mining, machine learning, mobility mining, cloud computing and security, Unmanned aerial vehicles, embedded AI, ERP systems and IT public policy.
