Dr. Valerie B. Johnson is an Assistant Professor of English in the Department of English and World Languages in the College of Arts and Sciences.
She received her B.A. from Smith College, and her M.A. and Ph.D. from the University of Rochester.
Johnson specializes in Medieval Literatures and Cultures, Space Theory (including Ecocriticism), and Robin Hood Studies. Her secondary interests include medievalism. Recent and forthcoming publications appear in the journals postmedieval, Studies in Medievalism, and The Year’s Work in Medievalism, as well as works in edited collections, reviews, and a co-edited volume of essays examining new approaches to the Robin Hood tradition.
