Serving Individuals with Communication Disorders and Preparing Professionals
The University of Montevallo’s Speech and Language Center is a training facility for graduate students studying Speech-Language Pathology. All services are provided by graduate students under the direct supervision of licensed Speech-Language Pathologists who hold the Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). All CSD faculty members hold the CCC and supervise cases in our center.

How much are services?
All diagnostic and therapy services are provided free of charge.
Where are we located?
The Speech & Language Center is located on the University of Montevallo campus behind Reynolds Hall. Once in Montevallo, on Highway 119, turn right onto Middle Street, and our building is the 2nd red brick building on the right. There is a parking lot available just beyond the building. Enter the side door from that parking lot, and the Departmental office is straight ahead.
When are services offered?
Therapy services are scheduled per semester for 10-week sessions each fall and spring and typically for 8 weeks in the summer. Services are offered during normal business hours, Monday through Friday, 9:00 am – 5:00 pm.
Are there any specialty clinics available?
Yes, the Swallowing and Voice Imaging Lab (SAVI Lab) is a specialty clinic and research lab for voice and swallowing-related conditions housed in the Department of Communication Science and Disorder’s Speech and Language Center at the University of Montevallo.
