Dr. Olteanu received her B.S. degree in Computer Science from the University of Bucharest and her M.S. degree in Applied Mathematics from the Polytechnic University of Bucharest, Romania. She was born in Bucharest and lived there until entering the doctorate program at The University of Alabama. Dr. Olteanu earned her M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Computer Science from The University of Alabama.
Prior to joining the University of Montevallo, Dr. Olteanu worked as a Software Consultant/Developer building enterprise applications to solve business problems in a wide range of industries including healthcare, banking and manufacturing.
Dr. Olteanu’s research interests include wireless networks, network security and network optimization. She is also passionate about investigating innovative techniques in Computer Science education and ways to make abstract concepts approachable.
